Common questions
The app isn’t transcribing
Make sure Jot has microphone permission. On Mac: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. On iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. On Windows: Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone.
Does Jot Transcribe work offline?
Yes. All speech recognition happens on your device, so no internet connection is needed once the speech model is downloaded.
Is my voice data sent anywhere?
No. Your audio never leaves your device. See the privacy policy for details.
How much does it cost?
Jot is free on every platform, with no account and no subscription. If you want to give back, see where donations go.
